Cost-effective PCB standoffs
Targeting a variety of assembly applications, a broad range of spacers are available from Harwin. Able to perform under severe conditions such as high mechanical load, the spacers (also known as pillars or standoffs) are available in a wide range of standard metric lengths and are fully RoHS compliant. The majority of the products utilise Brass with a Nickel protective plating, ensuring a cost-effective end product with respect to other materials.
Harwin has retained spacer production capabilities in-house, including turning, since it began in the 1950s. This provides the company with a high degree of manufacturing flexibility, enabling the manufacture of high-volume quantities of spacers, and making it possible to deliver specified products quickly, and cost-effectively.
Choice of thread sizes
Hexagonal threaded spacers are available in male/male, male/female and female/female orientations with body lengths ranging from 3mm to 40mm. Standard thread sizes include M2.5, M3 and M4. A plastic female/female spacer range for M3 is available, as well as self-locking snap-in pillars. In addition, clearance spacers for M3 and M4 are available in brass, aluminium and plastic with a circular outer section.
