Harwin Gecko connector selected as finalist in Ultimate Products Category at 2014 ACE Awards
Gecko G125 Series Hi-rel micro-miniature 1.25mm pitch interconnect successful across multiple diverse applications since launch.
Harwin, the leading hi-rel connector and SMT board hardware manufacturer, has announced that its Gecko connector has been selected as a finalist in the 2014 ACE Awards. These prestigious awards presented by EE Times and EDN attract a large number of entries from leading electronics companies as they vie for the accolade of winner in categories designed to showcase the latest and most innovative products to have been launched in the last twelve months. The ACE Awards also celebrate and recognise new talent, design achievements and lifetime contributions to the industry.
Harwin’s Gecko Series connectors are shortlisted in the Passive, Electromechanical and Connector category. Gecko interconnects provide high performance and high reliability in a micro-miniature package for cable and PCB applications. They can handle 2A per contact yet take up 35% less board space than other rugged connectors. Featuring pin spacing of 1.25mm and up to 50 contacts per connector, Gecko’s low profile and light weight, combined with its outstanding performance in harsh environments, has resulted in it being designed into applications as diverse as miniature space satellites, medical devices, motor sport, defense, oil and gas exploration and many others.
Harwin’s Gecko hi-rel 1.25mm interconnect is the only connector in the Passive, Interconnects and Electromechanical Ultimate Products category this year and is head-to-head with products from AVX, Littelfuse and Vishay. The winner will be announced during EE Live! at the 2014 ACE Awards evening to be held on April 1 at The Fairmont Hotel, San Jose, California.
