REACH – Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of CHemical substances
REACH is the EU Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It covers registering and authorising the use of all chemical substances, including the manufacture or importation of all substances into the EU.
Registration is required for companies that either produce or import into the EU any substance in volumes that exceed one tonne per substance. Harwin do not exceed this import amount, and is therefore not required to register any of the substances in use.
For authorisation and restriction, the SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern), Annex 14 and Annex 17 lists all influence substances that should be declared or avoided. These lists are typically updated with additional substances every six months.
