We've Upgraded Our Interactive Cable Configuration Tool

At Harwin, we're always looking for ways to make life easier for design engineers - that’s why we’ve upgraded our online cable configurator, making it even more powerful, flexible, and time-saving than before.

    Cable Configurator in action

    Launched at Electronica 2024

Originally launched at Electronica 2024, the cable configurator was built to simplify the process of designing cable assemblies, so engineers could get ‘right-first-time’ configurations without the back-and-forth. Since then, we’ve been busy adding new features based on user feedback.

Expanded Support for HRi Product Ranges

The Cable Configurator now supports our Gecko, Kona, and M300 ranges of HRi (high-reliability) products.

    Cable Configurator Selection

It also includes several new capabilities designed for engineers working on demanding, must-not-fail applications including:

  • Instant generation of 2D drawings in PDF format

  • Downloadable 3D models in a wide range of file types

  • More Control Over Connector Layouts and Customisation

Engineers can now also specify mixed layouts of power and signal connectors. For the Gecko range, you can now:

  • Create mixed power and signal layouts

  • Choose from multiple wire gauges

  • Select standard cable lengths of 150mm, 300mm, and 450mm

  • You can even define your wire colors and indicate exact wire lengths—all within the tool.

Quick, Simple Configuration with Instant Results

Engineers using the online tool can configure high-performance, high-reliability connectors in a single (or double) ended cable assembly through the simple selection of a few key design parameters.

A 3D render is then automatically created in real time for download alongside technical drawings, part numbers and the option to request a quote. All designs are fully validated to meet our specifications and can be delivered with impressively short lead times.

These upgrades are all part of our commitment to helping engineers move faster and reduce risk-whether you’re prototyping or preparing for full scale production.

Try the updated Cable Configurator today and see how much time you can save on your next cable assembly design.
