Introducing Right-Angled SIL Power Connectors & EMI Shielding to the Kona Range

Kona Right Angle product family

The Kona high-reliability range has been expanded with the new right-angle, single-in-line (SIL) power connectors. This range extension includes angled thru-board and cable options, along with EMI shielding, enhancing system design flexibility for aerospace, defense, and other high-performance applications - increasing the Kona line-up by over 30%.

What's new in the Kona Right Angle Series?

The new components include:

  • Nine right-angle 2, 3, and 4 pin SIL connectors for thru-board or board-to-panel configurations.
  • Right-angle cable mount female connectors
  • Right-angle board mount male connectors
  • Optional EMI shielding attachments

    • This update supports engineers designing for high-density, high-current applications where space saving and reliability are essential.

    High-Reliability Performance for Harsh Environments

    Kona connectors are engineered to deliver 60A per contact in demanding conditions. Key features include:

  • Beryllium copper contacts with gold plating for low contact resistance and long-term reliability
  • Individually shrouded, recessed contacts and polarized mating to prevent misconnection
  • 8.5 mm pitch and 3.65 mm PC tails for robust board retention
  • Operating temperature range from -65°C to +150°C, using PPS thermoplastic housings
  • RoHS compliant construction

    • They are manufactured from aluminium alloy and add only 2.2 mm in height, helping customers meet stringent EMC requirements.
