Frequently Asked Questions Ask a Question

Instead of crimping, can we solder the inner contact?

I do not think this would be possible, sorry. The inner contact is very small, and I do not think you will be able to accurately solder it by hand. In addition, there is no solder cup, so I suspect that you will increase the size of the contact by adding a layer of solder outside and around the contact. This might mean it will not fit in the insulator. You are of course welcome to try it for yourself, to see if it is possible, but it is not something we have tried, as the design was not intended to be assembled this way.
