Files/Certification from UL (previously Underwriters Laboratories)

UL provides safety-related certification, validation, testing, inspection, auditing, advising and training services to a wide range of clients, including manufacturers, retailers, policymakers, regulators, service companies, and consumers.

There are a number of different types of “UL files”. Similar to other standards companies, manufacturers can register as a company, register complete products, or register individual substances. Further, those substances may be tested to specific UL standards and be listed under those.

Harwin are not listed with UL, nor are any of our products. However, the vast majority of the plastics used to manufacture our products are listed under the UL94 standard, which covers flammability. On request, we can supply the UL94 file listing number (starting QMFZ2) for any plastic used on any of our products. Please send the part number(s) to the Compliance Team via the Contact Form.
