What is the procedure for removing / ejecting the coin cell battery?
We do not have a specific procedure detailed for removing the battery. If you have a look at the Technical Drawing (further down this page under Downloads/Technical Documentation), you will see a small opening in the housing surround at the top of the image. Here you can slide something small under the battery to lever it out the holder – just be careful not to damage the battery or holder.

Does this product need a pick and place cap for SMT placement?
A separate pick and place cap is not necessary (and is not supplied) – the part has an integrated flat surface that should be used for pick and place purposes. You just need to specify a vacuum nozzle of the right size.
