High-reliability connector system contributes to RoboCup success

August 2010

As a project for their final year, multi disciplinary Engineering degree, students from the University of Warwick were challenged to develop a robot to compete in the 2010 RoboCup Rescue league. To help them achieve this, they chose to use Harwin's Mix-Tek Datamate range to handle both signal and power within the same device saving space and weight.

Reliably making contact

Many applications need an interconnect system with a high-reliability contact, but often these cannot be assembled using automated processes. However, a new contact system has now been developed that offers the reliability required yet can be assembled using automated crimping equipments. Paul Gillam, product manager at Harwin explains.
