History of Harwin
Harwin began trading in 1952 in North London. In 1958 we relocated to Portsmouth on England's south coast from where we embarked on a continuing journey of achievement and expansion throughout the USA, Asia and around the world.
Key events and achievements in our 50-plus year history:
- 1952 Harwin Engineers founded in London
- 1958 Manufacturing commences at Portsmouth
- 1963 Harwin moves into new purpose-built factory
- 1977 IC socket manufacturing begins
- 1989 Harwin is registered as a PLC
- 1990 Harwin Pte opens in Singapore
- 1990 ISO9001 certification awarded
- 1991 Harwin Inc opens in USA
- 1992 DESC certification granted
- 2002 Harwin celebrates 50 years of manufacturing
- 2003 Harwin commences manufacturing in Taiwan
- 2006 Harwin Asia formed
- 2007 Harwin Inc. moves to larger facility
- 2008 Harwin Germany formed
